ABOUT THE AUTHOR – CYNTHIA FOWLER-ROLLE
Cynthia is a native of the island of New Providence. However, most of her early childhood and young adult life was spent on the island of Andros.
Cynthia is a poet, songwriter and author of three books. Echoes from the Isles of the Bahamas – a book of inspirational poems, ‘Life on the Lumber Farm’ – the forgotten industry of the Bahamas and her newest ‘how to’ book “Backyard Gardening in the Bahamas and the Caribbean”.
Cynthia is a member of the Horticulture Society of the Bahamas, Bahamas National Trust, a founding member of the Commonwealth Writers of the Bahamas and a member of Bahamas Faith Ministries International.
Backyard Gardening In The Bahamas & The Caribbean is the author’s valuable insights and wisdom from her many years of personal experience as a backyard gardener in the Bahamas. It was out of her love for writing and gardening that this how to book was birthed. Cynthia was once featured in the Nassau Guardian for growing unusually large vegetables. She also enjoys canning and often has vegetables preserved for years. Her goal is to motivate the average Bahamian to do their part in helping the economy by growing their own vegetables in whatever space available in their backyard. Cynthia is the author of Echoes From The Isles Of The Bahamas and Life On The Lumber Farm, is a poet and songwriter with a passion for the literary arts. She is an avid gardener who enjoys growing organic vegetables in her backyard. Cynthia is a native of the island of New Providence, but most of her early childhood and young adult life was spent on the island of Andros.
In Life On The Lumber Farm the author tells a story about a once thriving lumber industry on Andros island in the Bahamas, during the 1940’s and 1960’s. While doing so, she also reveals some historical facts and exposed hidden potentials of Andros island, also known as The Sleeping Giant.
